Sweet Goodbye!

Last March 2011, SOLID graduated from high school. They know that the next school year they are no longer classmates, batch mates, schoolmates and especially TUMCSians because they chosen different courses and different schools. They gave their sweetest goodbye to each of their batch mates. Today, I’m taking Broadcast Communication at the Polytechnic University of the Philippines (PUP).

I’m very thankful to God because He gave me BBrC 1-4 who treat me as a friend and as a brother. Sometimes we misinterpret each other that leads to a fight but we don’t let it last long because we all know that struggles in life makes us stronger. God also gave me the BBrC 1-4 who loves to support our classmates who competing to other students and colleges. I also thank God because leads us everywhere we go, He guides us in everything we do and He helps us in our decisions in life. And most of all, He granted us knowledge and wisdom to study and understand our lessons that will help us in our course and even in our career someday. I hope and I also pray that our friendship will last until forever even we will take different roads.

There are times that I miss my high school life; however I think those times when my highschool friends and I having our blissful moments. I believe that time will come; SOLID will gather again with their beautiful and stunning stories.

Sacrifice!

Last February 2011, IV-Solomon class had watched the Helen of Troy. Helen “Most beautiful woman in the world" was the daughter of Zeus the God of all Gods. She was married to Menelaus the man who lives in the shadow of his brother, Agamemnon. She believed that a shepherd named Paris will be married to her when the right time came.

One day, when she needs to be naked in front of many kings, Paris came to Sparta with his army to have a deal with Menelaus the king of Sparta. Helen remembered the man she saw in the water, but she did not know that Paris also saw her in an apple. She tried to commit suicide but she was stopped by Paris, both of them didn’t know that someone saw them at the kingdom top. The woman who saw them reported to Menelaus what she saw. Menelaus ordered to arrest Paris and put into penitentiary. Helen helped Paris to get out of the prison. Paris decided to return to Troy, he asked Helen if she want to go with him to Troy and to marry him when they get there. Helen correspond with Paris, they happily reached Troy. Agamemnon with his army declared war against Troy, and the downfall of Troy began.

Two weeks later, we tackled about the movie “Helen of Troy.” Our Teacher had given us this question, Boys: If you were Paris, would you ask Helen to go with you to Troy? Girls: If you were Helen, would go with Paris to Troy?. Since, I was a boy I will answer the question, if I were Paris, would I ask Helen to go with me to Troy?

If I were Paris, I will ask Helen to go with me to Troy because both of us already known that we loved each other. I will struggle for the right of Helen that she does not need to be seen by thousand of kings naked. I will marry Helen even though she was the reason of the war declared by Spartans and Mycenaean’s. I will also defend my kingdom, Troy, when the Spartans attack us. Although, my sister, Cassandra, told us that I am the cause of the downfall of Troy. Still, I had shown my love for my Kingdom and for my wife, Helen.

Doubt that the stars are fire, Doubt that the sun doth move his aides, Doubt truth to be a liar, But never doubt I love

Our Best for God's Glory

The 26th Founding Anniversary of TUMCS was started by the lightning of the torch, each year level were divided into three teams, the YELLOW team, GREEN team and the BLUE team.

The next event was the Mr. and Ms. Intramural; I was one of the candidates of Mr. Intramurals. Fear overcome me as I ramped and speak at the Aisle, although I did not win still I am proud of myself because I made it to the Top 5.

Then, Field demonstration was the next event, where students showed their talents in terms of dancing and cheering. JUNIORS got the 1st place in Cheering and in Ballroom dancing, while we SENIORS got the 1st place in Modern dance.

After the two events, the most awaited event the “SPORTSFEST”, where every student wants to win in different sports like basketball, volleyball and badminton. The FRESHMENS gave their very best to beat their batch mates and the SOPHOMORES, but the SOPHOMORES did not let FRESHMENS win. The JUNIORS and SENIORS had a close fight as the ball games continues. My batch mates showed their support in every game we played, they kept on yelling and cheering for us. Some of our classmates gave us water when they saw us thirsty and get worried when we were injured.  As seniors, we did not want to lose any game because we want to be the CHAMPION for this year, the last year of being high school students. We played fairly and truthful in the whole event, but we observed the cheats that other lower years used as they oppose with us, but we don’t know if that is their intention for them to win. And even though we did not win, we were still happy for we have done our best for God’s Glory. Winning is not important, it is how you enjoy the game even you win or lose.
